Hello,
Question concerning web shop orders to Finland. Is it so that we who live in Finland are forced to use TT Sweden for orders of TT equipment? When comparing prices from TT Germany web shop and TT Sweden so the prices including vat+shipment are still cheaper in German web shop than in the Swedish one. There has been a lot of discussion in our local forums about this matter and even some contacts to you but we haven’t got any reasonable answer to this question.
I sent an e-mail to Margit Rowley about this matter but I got an answer to my question from Sweden?? In that e-mail from David Johansson he replied that reason for price difference is Finnish vat which they pay to Finland??
Here is enclosed the copy of Mr Johanssons e-mail to me and there is some misunderstandings concerning taxation, movement of goods, and free trade inside European Union
"Hi Jukka,
Thank you for your email.
May I ask why you are not happy with Touratech Nordic and our webshop? I see that you got a delivery from us a few days ago, was there something wrong?
For your information, we are also a registered Finnish company (org. number FI 22396616) and the official distributor of Touratech in Finland. This means that we charge you your local VAT that is higher than in Germany German. But this is the law, we have to charge your local VAT, anything else would be illegal for a company the size of Touratech (I you would like to read more on tax rules in the EU please see:
http://ec.europa.eu/taxation_customs/taxation/vat/how_vat_works/distance_selling/index_en.htm). The difference in price between us and Germany (without VAT) is only a few percent and this is due to currency changes and higher costs in the Nordic countries.
Do not hesitate to contact us if you have more questions.
Vänliga hälsningar / Kind Regards
David Johansson"
As well I can’t understand the point of currency changes in this matter. If I order something from a shop which is inside euro area so there is no currency changes in between. Of course when ordering from Sweden there is depending of day a change in currency when they switch first to Swedish Crowns and then back again to Euro. In that matter it would be even easier to use the “normal” TT web shop
Otherwise TT Sweden works well and so this mail is in no means a vote of no confidence against TT Sweden but is just a number of questions for the future which has raised up following conversations in local net boards…
Regards,
Jukka Mattila
